Breaking: Opposition Raises Concerns Over Waqf Bill Ahead of Presentation | ABP NEWS
Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, has expressed strong opposition to the Waqf Bill, criticizing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for bringing such legislation. He emphasized that the government aims to centralize administrative power, a move that could lead to divisiveness in Indian society.
Yadav recalled that in the past, the country witnessed the negative impact of such power-driven decisions, which caused harm to Indian culture. He also pointed out that the BJP’s efforts to consolidate its voter base, particularly through actions like the demonetization (note bandi) policy, have caused more harm than good.
Yadav claimed that demonetization led to severe hardships for the common people, hurting the economy and the livelihood of traders. He raised concerns over the BJP's focus on dividing communities for electoral gain, asserting that their actions are aimed at appeasing a specific voter base while neglecting the broader issues faced by the country.
