'Can't save religion when deputy CM's wife busy making reels': Kanhiya Kumar's remarks on Devendra Fadnavis' wife Amruta sparks row
Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Friday sharply hit out at Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar over his derogatory remarks on Fadnavis’ wife making reels saying that Kumar should be highly ashamed of himself.
Fadnavis said that he was not surprised by such remarks as he and his wife have been tolerating such comments for five years.
“…’Sharam aani chahiye, chullu bhar paani mein doob marna chahiye’ (He should be ashamed, should die in a handful of water)…I am not surprised by this. My wife and I have suffered for the last 5 years. The hate campaign that the Maha Vikas Aghadi has launched against me is nothing new. I have been the Home Minister for the past 2.5 years and I know who’s running which campaign.," Fadnavis said in an interview to news agency ANI.
