Rahul Gandhi targets Jaishankar’s remarks on informing Pakistan ‘at the start’ of Operation Sindoor

Tagging External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar’s reported statement that India had informed Pakistan of hitting terror infrastructure at the start of Operation Sindoor, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday (May 17, 2025) asked who had “authorised” such a move, and how many aircraft India had lost as a result.

However, Mr. Gandhi’s claim was an “utter misrepresentation of facts”, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in an official statement.

“Informing Pakistan at the start of our attack was a crime. EAM has publicly admitted that GOI [Government of India] did it. Who authorised it? How many aircraft did our air force lose as a result?” Mr. Gandhi said in a post on social media platform X.
