X CEO Linda Yaccarino resigns after two years at the helm of Elon Musk’s social media platform

Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), announced her resignation on Wednesday, July 9. She stepped down just two years after taking on the role. Yaccarino shared the news in a brief statement. “After two incredible years, I’ve decided to step down as CEO of X," she wrote.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, responded with a short message: “Thank you for your contributions."

Yaccarino did not give a reason for her exit. However, many people noticed the timing. Over the past year, several high-profile executives have also quit Musk’s companies.

Linda Yaccarino is a 61-year-old media executive who became well-known in 2023 when she was appointed CEO of X. But her journey did not start in tech.
