The Hosanagara police arrested a man on charges of slashing the udder of a cow at Melina Sampalli village in Hosanagara taluk.
According to sources, Ramchandra allegedly hit a cow and slashed its udder on June 28, as the animal fed on yield in the farm. Naveen, owner of the cattle, filed the complaint with the Hosanagara police the next day.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960, and arrested the accused.
