Ratan Tata once wrote a letter to former PM Narasimha Rao for ‘opening up on…’

RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka has shared a photo of a handwritten note by Ratan Tata addressed to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao in 1966. Notably, former PM Rao is often called as the ‘Father of Indian Economic Reforms’ for changing the face of India’s economy in 1996. In the letter, Tata expressed his admiration for Rao’s “outstanding achievement” in initiating the crucial economic reforms that India needed at the time.

Former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao changed the face of India’s economy in 1996 and lead it on the path of recovery and transformation.

In the letter, Ratan Tata lauded Rao for making India, a part of the global community. “Every Indian should owe you a debt of gratitude for the courageous and far-sighted “opening up” of India,” Ratan Tata wrote.
